6th International Pump Fest comes to a close

It all started in 2005, when Andamiro, the development team behind Pump It Up, set up a “World Pump Festival” for PIU players all around the globe to compete and possibly win 129,000$. However, when the game eventually lost much of its popularity outside of Korea, these officially organized competitions were halted, with the last one having taken place in 2011. Since then, a small but dedicated group of southern american players have taken over by hosting their own worldwide Pump competition, the “International Pump Fest“, the newest iteration of which came to a close this weekend with the winner of the man’s bracket being “Next Poke” from Mexico, and the female champion being “Gisella” from Peru.

Of course, European players took part in the annual championship as well. The European high score in the male category was attained by the spaniard “Yomo” who took 59th place with an amazing 115,894,000 points, while the best European female player named Haru-kaze managed to get 39th place with 78,72,700 points in total.
